Dave Collins is a Denver based artist working in the traditional media of oils, and acrylics. His background is in figure studies from the Graduate School of Figurative Art at the New York Academy of Art in New York City (MFA, Painting), the University of Colorado at Denver (BA, Art History, BFA, Creative Arts- Painting Emphasis), with additional studies at The Art Students League of Denver, and in Osteology and Paleontology at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Dave paints the narrative art of figures, landscapes, portraits, animals, and is an expert in human and animal anatomy for artists. He recently resigned as Associate Professor of Illustration at the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design in Denver, Colorado, where he had been teaching figure drawing and painting, animal anatomy and drawing, as well as still-life and landscape painting full-time for fourteen years. He currently teaches as an adjunct instructor at RMCAD.
